Sitting in the hospital with my mother is making me realize how great she really is. On Friday, mom had a 13 hour surgery that consisted of a double mastectomy and reconstruction. Although she is in a tremendous amount of pain, she is constantly trying to help people and make sure that everyone's needs have been met. She is laying in a hospital bed asking me if I need anything.....she never ceases to amaze me. Each person who walks in the room is touched by the way my mom is showing kindness and generosity, through such a difficult time. The doctors and nurses here are responsible of taking care of her, but she is concerned with their needs. Mom is showing Christs love to everyone she encounters even through the circumstances. Its incredible that in her helpless situation she is still caring for others, just like she would any other day. We were all born with a selfish nature, but mom doesn't seem to fall under that category. Sure she will take care of herself, but not before everyone else needs have been fulfilled. She truly is a selfless woman.
